Description: All levels are welcome to receive assistance in auditioning with a monologue. All adult artists are required to come with a monologue selected to work on for the 4-week workshop.

Materials Included: Each student will receive a supply kit via USPS mail, which includes writing utensils, highlighter, notebook and guide.

About the Instructor: 

Ananias J. Dixon is a theater teacher and coach at the Cleveland School of The Arts, Cleveland Play House, and Playhouse Square. He has performed at Pittsburgh Public Theater, Dobama, Karamu House, Cleveland Public Theater, Actors Temple, & Cleveland Play House. TV/Film credits include Law and Order: SVU, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, Boardwalk Empire, Upstairs, NYV 22, Antwone Fisher, Home, and Criminal Activity.

Schedule:       Tuesday 6:30-7:30p and Saturday 2:00p-3:00p (Oct 27-Nov 17)

Description: 2020 is the year we celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance. A year celebrating African American innovation and creativity, and the year 2020 has required us to grow in our creativity. This workshop will teach participants how to craft and manipulate shadow puppetry in order to explore innovative ways of storytelling.

Materials Included: Each student will receive a supply kit via USPS mail, which includes all necessary tools to create and craft shadow puppets.

About the Instructor: 

Julia Rosa Sosa, is an El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juarez native, now based in Cleveland, OH. She is a University of Texas at El Paso alumni. She has served as an assistant director in Tony award winner theatres such as Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Mojada: Una Medea in Los Angeles by Luis Alfaro,  Native Gardens at Cleveland PlayHouse to Robert Barry Fleming and the canceled Antigone directed by Lauren Keating due to COVID-19.She has directed productions in Spanish in Cleveland as; In The Time of the Butterflies and Marisol at Cleveland Public Theatre. Julia is the playwright of the play En Ultimas Noticias for the El Paso Strong: an Evening of Short Plays by El Paso Playwrights in response to Walmart Shootings in 2019. And El Toro y la Niña for the radio festival ReUnion rEvolucion: A Latinx New Works Festival.
